Unlimited Bandwidth Policy

At UltaHost, we offer unmetered or unlimited bandwidth on select hosting plans to provide our customers with flexibility, scalability, and optimal performance. However, to ensure a stable and secure hosting environment for all users, this Fair Usage Policy (FUP) is in effect.

1. What “Unlimited Bandwidth” Means

“Unlimited” means we do not impose a fixed cap on your monthly bandwidth usage. Instead, your website may use as much data transfer as required, as long as it complies with our Acceptable Use Policy and does not negatively impact other users on the same server.

2. What’s Not Allowed (Abusive Usage)

To prevent abuse, we prohibit the following activities under unlimited bandwidth:

• Hosting or distributing large files (e.g., backup dumps, raw videos, software packages) unrelated to your website’s operations.
• Running public file-sharing, streaming, torrent, or mirror services.
• Excessive use of server resources (CPU, RAM, disk I/O) that impacts server performance for other users.
• Hosting proxy scripts, VPN services, mining operations, or game servers on shared hosting plans.
• Using your hosting plan as a content delivery network (CDN) substitute or for bulk email sending.
• Spamming or botnet operations.

3.  Monitoring and Notifications

UltaHost continuously monitors bandwidth and resource usage. If your usage:

• Consistently exceeds 3–5x the average bandwidth of similar plans, or
• Creates performance issues for other users,
• you will receive a warning notification and may be asked to optimize usage or upgrade to a VPS or dedicated server.

4. Fair Usage Actions

If excessive or abusive usage is detected, we may:

• Temporarily throttle bandwidth,
• Suspend the account pending review,
• Offer an upgrade path to a higher-tier plan,
• Terminate the service for repeated or intentional violations.

5. Best Practices

To ensure fair use, customers are encouraged to:

• Use caching (e.g., CDN, Cloudflare, LiteSpeed),
• Compress images and files,
• Limit automated bot traffic,
• Avoid hosting downloadable files not required for site functionality.
